Sinemet
My husband is in an assisted living facility where the staff manage his meds. He's just been prescribed sinemet. The doctor said it's very important that he take the medication at 6 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. (I had told her that meals are around 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.). The med tech brought his first pill at 6:30 p.m. after we had had dinner and I said no, the orders are for 6 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m and the neurologist was insistent that it had to be taken exactly as she directed. The med tech took the pill away and was going to call the nurse in charge to make sure, but she also told me that "to be honest, the pills aren't going to be on that exact a schedule". My question: HOW IMPORTANT IS IT? is it the TIME, or the INTERVAL, or the fact that it's BEFORE MEALS, or WHAT? Please help.
