The recommended starting dose of Nizoral for adults is a single daily dose of 200 milligrams (1 tablet). In very serious infections, or if the problem does not clear up within the expected time, the dose of Nizoral may be increased to 400 milligrams (2 tablets) once daily. Treatment lasts at least 1 to 2 weeks, and for some infections much longer. Follow your doctor's instructions.

How long can I take Nizoral? I have taken ketoconazole long enough to help my fungal nails but never long enough to completely cure them.

It is usually taken for 2-3 long periods ith a break between them.

I was prescribed nizoral (got the generic ketoconazole) for two weeks. I am diabetic. Almost immediately after starting the rx, I started having dangerously low blood glucose levels. After 1 week on the medication, the doctor told me the nizoral was the reason for the low sugars. I stopped taking the nizoral immediately. Now two days later, my blood glucose levels are still low.

My question is... how long after stopping the medication should the side effects wear off?
