I was diagnosed with diabetes in Feb o8. I found out after being really sick, feeling tired, completely exhausted all the time and achey all over. Thought I had the flu, I did but as it turned out I also had a kidney infection and an A1c of 15 as well. At the time my primary care physician said he thought after I got my diabetes under control I would feel a lot better. After starting on insulin immediately and getting my glucose levels down, last three reading have all been around 6 and my kidney infection cleared up I do feel better but I also still have two of the main complaints I went in about over a year ago. I still ache all over all the time. I am not tired but my muscles ache, like when you exercise a lot and are sore only I feel like that all the time. And my stomach still hurts all the time.

I've seen a gastroenterologist, had all the basic tests run, no ulcer, etc. I have also had basic bloodwork done all tests come back "normal" thyroid, etc. It is VERY frustrating. I am just trying to figure out what is connected and what is not. Are these other symptoms, stomach & muscle aches possibly diabetes related to or more likely another problem entirely?

I just remember the urologist saying after I first went to him that diabetes was a wicked disease that wreaks havoc on our bodies and that it would be the first thing he would point to for pretty much any problem. He was exaggerating he admitted but also said that it did really cause a lot of complications with a lot of things that might not seem related at all.

Just really frustrated! Tired of feeling like crap every day when I wake up! And trying to get to the bottom of everything. Thanks for any input you may have.
