Jung
Hi there,

My sister is using Lipitor daily and she is going to have a surgery in the next few weeks. Is there a need to stop taking Lipitor prior to and after the surgery?

Thanks in advance.
Jung
Pharmcart Answer
She just needs to inform her surgeon that she is taking Lipitor before having a surgery.
Mr.Kathiresan
I have been taking one 10mg AtorvaStatin tablet every night since last five years. During last 3/4 years I have been getting skin itches/rashes.The rashes disappear in 30/45 minutes. The doctor I consulted told me that ' Statin' is not the cause and offered treatment for 'skin allergy'. The 'Delorid' pills he gave for skin allergy stopped itching. But iitching revived after 2/3 weeks of stoppining that pill. Please let me know if 'Statin' causes skin allergy/itching.
Pharmcart Answer
Though statins are not considered to be the cause of allergic reactions on skin, they still may cause such reactions in some cases like yours. Change your medication.
