we are planning to get pregnent but our biggest concern is that my husband is on coumadin because a bloodcloth in his leg. is that ok to get pregnent?

Coumadin can cause birth defects if taken by mother, especially during I trimester of pregnancy. But there is no information about the influence of Coumadin intake on unborn children if it is taken by future father.

I have been taking 5 mg coumadin for one month because of atrial flutter. Flutter is gone. Doctor says I can stop taking it. Any problems with stopping it "cold turkey". SInce it stays in the system for 2-5 days, what precautions should I take for that time. SInce I am not taking it, and the body is used to it, can a stroke occur by stopping immediately?

Your doctor should tell you how to stop intake of this medicine. If he told you to stop immediately, just do this and don't worry.

I know coumadin can cause bruising, but can is cause a sensativity to the touch. I feel like my skin is bruised when it is touched on my arms, shoulders, neck and back. I have been on Coumadin for 11 weeks 5mg once a day since my heart surgery.

This may be side effect enforced with physiological feeling and maybe stress after surgery

Can I take coumadin with a ulcer that is not bleeding. I also take prilosec. The ulcer is a deudenial ulcer.

I have a good neighbor who recently had two blood clots in two veins in his legs (he had knee surgery recently) He saw a recall or something on Cumadin, so he stopped it cold turkey without consenting his doctor. This was about a week ago.Today, while at lunch with him, he became very ill. I,and his daughter ate the same thing..He became more sick and did contact his doctor..Myquestion is, as the noisy neighbor, could it have had something to do with the cumandin he stopped...?
